Feature: Zinmag Primus 2.0

ヒツゼンノケイヤク - UPDATED

Many thanks to Jinsona Design who created such a wonderful theme and Alvaris Falcon who converted this theme into a wonderful blogger theme.

I've been searching for a modern theme for my blog for the past few weeks, however, most stylish or cool themes are made for wordpress. They do provide alternative for blogger, but there's always the price to pay for the technical handlings, such as the fiddling with HTML codes and perform many trial and error to do it. As I strongly believe, nothing come in a free package, if you want to learn something, a necessary effort must be place.

To do this in a safe environment as good practice of modifying code, it is always the best you do it a test site where the actual site is not affected by the new theme until it is completely safe to do so. I've created a site, DesigninDevelopment-ßeta (experimental lab) to do the job.

Here are the highlights of the new theme:

i)Slide Feature: Allows you to give your readers a highlight on what's happening or what's new in your blog.

ii) Featured Video: Share any interesting web-video such as YouTube
iii) Tag Cloud: An interesting way to show readers about the labels of your blog as well as the frequency of post associated to your label in an image presentation.
iv) Square-Box: Allows you to place gadgets in that area. Very handle and neat

v) Info Footer: Another good place to add gadgets.

vi) Read more function: I found it handy as some of my blog post are long and I don't wish my readers to spending time scrolling down (I do aware the existence of the mouse view).

AFTER READ MORE

Happy reading!

Edit:

-done updating the blog list, if I miss out any please do tell me.
-footer done
-the only not done yet will be top banner (I still need some inspiration to create one, any ideas?)

It seems that the pictures in the layout I used has exceeded the image hosting's bandwidth.

Will find a replacement soon.

Fresh theme before Christmas

Comments
After some hunting using Google as my ultimate weapon, I managed to hook on an interesting site that offers creative Wordpress theme for blogger. I initially ponder to switch to Wordpress just because of the broad theme available in the Internet. Blogger's template is hard to create and learn ever since they have upgraded it to XML format. It is hard for me to let go the bright orange dilectio theme by design disease , but its time to change.

The theme I currently using now is created by Evan Eckard, a very good designer in creating Wordpress templates. Many thanks to GosuBlogger who modified the code to make it available in blogger. It is sweet and nice as my previous layout problem has been solved.

New Theme

6 kachings
Finally, I found the theme I like.

Though it has some bugs on the date display on this blog.

Anyway, it is great and very appealing to me.

Million thanks to Design Disease and Smashing Magazine to allow me to find this.

And of course, my sis as well.

=)

When I am in the mood on blogging, this error constantly appears (which blocks me from signing into my blogger account which access to google server) and it does not resolve even I refresh the page, the only solution is wait for 5-10 minutes to recover. *strange* It occurs only at my computer. I wonder why...........

Blogger Template

Comments
I thought I want to give it a try to change my blogger template besides the given template.I found one particularly interesting from Drogue Designs. I really like its unique and funky type of design, so I copied the code from them, launched blogger, signed into my account, clicked template, clicked edit HTML and PASTE! And hit the preview button. This is where my nightmares starts, dozen and dozen of coding error. I thought I have copied wrongly, try looking through the codes, the codes are fine. I tried reading the coding error message, looks familiar and then my light bulb burst, its AN XML CODE. *shocks*

The code given is in HTML format, not in XHTML. Plus it is using the strict format which doesn't allow any of the traditional HTML codes to be keyed in. I switched back to the original template, trying to copy the Cascading Style Sheets codes to the XHTML, partically success but I couldn't solve the error. After looking through blogger's help, I am still having the same error despite following its instruction to place Cascading Style Sheet. I finally given up after spending hours and hours editing the code. Then I found this interesting site from the result of googling. Too bad, it has only one interesting theme that I like, but I think it is too flowery as you can see it hanging around my blog entry. Here's the pictorial comparison between my old blogger theme and new theme:

I am still not done with it yet, as some of my element (for example links) has gone missing.
